Our small and friendly town is located in Northwest Oklahoma at the junction of two U.S. Highways 183/64. Travel to an Interstate, whether Interstate 35 or Interstate 40 is only 2 hours. The geographic center of the United States is not far north of this County Seat town nestled in between Kansas and Texas and not far from Colorado.

As the county seat for Harper County, the town of Buffalo plays a central role in regional affairs. Housing the Harper County Courthouse, as well as being the Headquarters for Division VI for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, Buffalo is of strategic importance to the state. Additionally, there are locally owned businesses that have thrived for generations providing many residents with job and educational opportunities over the course of this rural community’s history.
